The hirer and/or authorized driver must hold a full and valid driving license for a minimum of 2 years prior to the rental date.
The license must have no serious endorsements at the time of hire.
A Zanzibar Temporary Driving Permit is mandatory for tourists. International Driving Permits are not valid alone in Zanzibar.
Royal Palm Chauffeur & Rental will arrange the Zanzibar Visitor Driving Permit on your behalf before arrival (Fee: USD 10 – valid for one month).
A copy of your driving license must be submitted in advance for processing.

Drivers must be between 24 and 70 years old.
The renter/driver must provide a valid passport or government-issued ID, in addition to the driving license.

All Royal Palm vehicles are fully insured.
Insurance includes Collision Damage Waiver (CDW).
Insurance does not cover personal injury, personal belongings, or medical expenses of the renter.
Customers are advised to arrange their own Travel or Medical Insurance.

Vehicles are provided with half tank fuel and must be returned with the same level.
Missing fuel will be charged at the current local fuel rate.

Payment is made at the time of vehicle collection.
We accept major credit/debit cards and approved payment methods.
A refundable security deposit of USD 200 or passport is required as bond (returned at the end of the rental period).
The renter is responsible for ensuring the vehicle is securely parked, preferably under guard at night.

Delivery to hotels, resorts, and beaches may incur additional charges (quotation available upon request).

The vehicle may only be driven by the renter or authorized driver.
Driving on the seashore or beach is strictly prohibited.
The renter is fully responsible for the vehicle during the rental period.
Early contract termination by the renter requires payment of 50% of the total agreed cost.
Royal Palm Chauffeur & Rental reserves the right to terminate the agreement if the vehicle is misused or driven recklessly.
Damages caused by negligence will be charged accordingly.
Extra time beyond agreed return time is charged at USD 5 per hour.
Fuel and driving permit fees are excluded from rental prices unless stated otherwise.
Mechanical failure is the responsibility of Royal Palm Chauffeur & Rental.
Free mileage and roadside breakdown assistance included.
No refund for No Shows.
Cancellations within 48 hours of booking incur full cancellation fees.
Date changes are subject to vehicle availability.
Additional charges apply for pick-up/drop-off at beach hotels or remote locations.

Driving is on the left-hand side of the road.
Seat belts are mandatory for all passengers.
Always carry your driving permit and ensure insurance stickers are visible.
In case of police inquiry or vehicle issue, contact Royal Palm immediately.
Report accidents to police and inform us immediately.
